No Departamento de Economia e Gestão, da Universidade dos Açores, sou o coordenador da mobilidade para as áreas da Gestão, Economia e Turismo.
Temos ao longo dos anos recebido e enviado para universidades parceiras alunos que, em geral, têm obtido bons resultados nos estudos.
Para além destes resultados os alunos têm me confirmado a ideia de que os programas de mobilidade, nomeadamente o Erasmus, é óptimo não só para continuar estudos mas igualmente para contactar com novas culturas e conhecimentos, bem como para viajar um pouco no país/região de acolhimento ou mesmo nos espaços geográficos limítrofes.
Essa é uma das razões que encontro, a formação dos jovens nos seus diversos aspectos, para me dedicar a este e outros Programas de Mobilidade, tentando incentivá-los para se tornarem “outgoing students” e assim conseguirem ultrapassar as ainda existentes limitações dos espaços insulares.
É sem duvida um investimento que faço com o maior agrado e que me é compensado por tudo o que os alunos não só aprendem, em termos académicos, mas principalmente pela abertura dos seus horizontes.

Hello!
I’m the Erasmus Coordinator for Mobility, Erasmus Program included, at the Departamento de Economia e Gestão (Dpartment of Economy and Management) Universidade dos Açores, for economy, management and tourism courses.
During the last decade we have sent and received students to and from many countries.
For our students it is an opportunity to expeience a change from the place where they live and their home University, and make new friends and get in contact with other culture and language.
The same is true for the foreign students that spent some time among us.
I must assume that, after the semester or year they spend in Açores, they leave with insight into our culture and the certainty of our friendship, besides te increased academic knowledge and the desire to come back.
We have, apart from our beautiful University environment, a good climate, beautiful gardens and green landscapes, fabulous lakes, volcanic signs, such as geysers, and lots and lots of flowers and a sea, with warm water.
If you are used to doing sports, you will have lots of opportunities.
The Açores are a beautiful place to live or spent some months among nice people.
